Clinic Policies

Walk-in Policy

We require appointments for everyone.

If you arrive without an appointment, you will be offered the the next available time slot—which may not be on the same day. While we do everything in our power to fit people in, we cannot guarantee same-day appointment availability. If there is a same-day appointment available, you may need to wait outside the clinic until 5 minutes before that time.

Missed Appointments

TO PROTECT OTHERS, PLEASE CANCEL YOUR APPOINTMENT IF YOU ARE NOT FEELING WELL and suspect you might be contagious. Please visit our COVID-19 SAFETY POLICIES PAGE for additional information.

Our missed appointment policy changed (effective July 1, 2023). Missed appointments for other reasons are charged a flat $15 fee. You can always cancel or change appointments yourself, up to 12 hours in advance, via our online booking system (use the link in your appointment confirmation email). As long as you notify us, we will not charge for rescheduling or cancellation due to acute illness or emergency.

If you are unable to make it to your appointment, we require a minimum of 12 hours notice for any changes or cancellations, in order to make the appointment slot available to another person. To sustain our low-cost clinic, we depend on having a busy schedule in order to keep our treatment fees as low as possible. Missed appointments, which include both no-shows and late cancellations, impact our ability to operate sustainably and offer affordable care.

  • No-shows: when you miss your appointment and do not contact the clinic beforehand.
  • Late cancellations: when you cancel or reschedule your appointment less than 12 hours before the appointment time.

If you accrue a balance of three (3) or more missed appointment fees, you will not be able to book more appointments until your balance has been paid. If paying the full balance represents a hardship, let us know and we will discuss your options on a case-by-case basis. If you frequently miss appointments, we may require you to check for same day appointment availability via phone. If this still results in missed sessions, we may not be able to offer you care.

Accessibility & welcoming diversity

We appreciate the diversity of human beings and are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment. We do not discriminate based on race, national origin, immigration status, political affiliation, religion, age, body shape or size, education, disability, substance use, or history of incarceration, sexual orientation, sex, gender identity or any other socio-economic or cultural factor. We strive to create a hate-free environment, so any discriminatory action or speech will not be tolerated in our clinic.

Our space is wheelchair accessible.

Using tables vs. recliners: We have 7 recliners and 4 massage tables in the clinic. We do not reserve specific tables or recliners for acupuncture sessions, all of them are available on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no treatment difference between using a table versus using a recliner. We want you to be as comfortable as possible during your treatment and offer a variety of options since certain positions may be more or less comfortable, depending on preference and history of illness and/or injury. All of our recliners do fully recline, though some of them are a bit stiff. In addition to the standard pillows on the massage tables, you can bring or request smaller neck or foot pillows to support your comfort. We are happy to assist clients in getting more comfortable for their session!

If you need us to accommodate a specific issue, please let one of our practitioners know.
