COVID19 Safety Policies

We have updated our policies and procedures to make the clinic as safe as possible for all clients and staff.

We are closely following public health guidelines pertaining to COVID-19 prevention. As per guidance from Alameda County Public Health Department, we are currently treating people with symptoms of pain/injury or health complaints due to a chronic health condition. We are encouraging those wanting a general wellness/ tune-up type of treatment to wait until the next phase of re-opening to book an appointment.

*️⃣ All clients will be verbally screened for COVID19 before being allowed into the treatment area. Please READ screening criteria here or at the bottom of this page before coming in.

*️⃣ All persons are required to WEAR A FACE MASK worn over the mouth, chin, and nose, and fit closely on the sides of the face while at the clinic. Not all face masks are equally effective safety barriers (⬅️ click for article). We strongly prefer the use of well-fitted double-layer cotton, N95/KN95 or medical/surgical style pleated disposable masks in the clinic. Please DO NOT to wear one-way valve, single layer jersey cotton, scarf/bandana or gaiter style face coverings during your treatment. Please be aware that when you arrive, your practitioner may ask you to wear a different mask if they determine your face covering is not sufficiently safe for our indoor group setting. We have limited supply of medical and 2-layer cotton cloth masks available in the clinic for a small fee.  Sanitize your hands after adjusting or touching your mask and keep the touching/adjusting to a minimum.

*️⃣ Everyone entering the clinic must use hand sanitizer upon arrival. Hand washing for at least 20 seconds is highly recommended before and after your session, and after using the restroom or touching any shared surface. You may use our kitchen area for hand-washing; hand sanitizer is available throughout the clinic.

*️⃣ Please practice physical distancing while in the clinic by generally staying at least 6 feet from others whenever possible.

*️⃣ All NEW clients must book by phone. Call us at 510.526.5056 and we will help you as promptly as we can.

*️⃣ We cannot accept walk-ins. ALL treatments must be pre-scheduled. If you arrive without an appointment, you will be offered the next available time slot and asked to wait outside the clinic until 5 minutes before that time.

*️⃣ Please be on time for your appointments. You may arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before your appointment time. If you are late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled. Please be understanding about this as physical distancing rules limit the number of people we can allow in the clinic.

*️⃣ We are limiting all acupuncture sessions to 1 hour. Your acupuncturist will wake you after one hour or earlier at your request. To maintain physical distancing, we have reduced the number of treatment spots – please be flexible in choosing your chair/table.

*️⃣ The waiting area is closed to companions and casual visitors. Only those with an appointment are allowed inside. Please ask anyone accompanying you but not receiving a treatment to wait outside. If another client is already waiting in the reception area, please wait outside. Please keep your time in the waiting area to a minimum.

*️⃣ Check-in and payments: We will not have front desk help. Your practitioner will check you in when you arrive. Please help us streamline our check-in process: If possible, please prepay for one or multiple sessions with your credit card online using this link. You can also prepay by phone during business hours. If paying in person, you will need exact change for cash payments; checks may be pre-written; credit card payments will be “contactless” with no signatures required. Receipts are available only by request.

*️⃣ Personal items: Please bring minimal belongings with you to the clinic. Please DO NOT bring your own blankets or sheets but you can wear extra clothing to stay warm. Limited clean blankets will be available by request only. We will maintain a warmer temperature in the clinic to reduce the need for blankets.

*️⃣ Nourishment: We have closed our snack and tea area so please eat and hydrate before you arrive.

*️⃣ Cancellations/rescheduling: TO PROTECT OTHERS, PLEASE CANCEL YOUR APPOINTMENT IF YOU ARE NOT FEELING WELL. We do not charge for no-shows/late cancellations, however, please give us 24-hours notice whenever possible. If you are able, please consider donating 50% or more of your normal fee if you missed an appointment due to a non-emergency.

*️⃣ Please ask our staff to provide you with anything extra that you may need (a cup of water, a pillow, earplugs, tissues, cough drops etc.). These items are no longer self-serve.

*️⃣ All STAFF are complying with the recommended physical distancing guidelines in daily life and will self-screen for COVID-19 before coming to work each day. Staff failing the screening will not be permitted to work. Please be aware that this safety measure may cause last-minute schedule changes.

*️⃣ All staff have been trained in safety procedures including hand hygiene, cleaning and disinfecting practices, physical distancing and low contact work methods.

*️⃣ All recliners/tables will be cleaned after every single use. Chair/table covers will be sanitized after each patient; pillow cases will be changed immediately after use. ALL commonly touched surfaces will be sanitized frequently throughout the day.

*️⃣ Medical grade air purifiers and a humidifier will operate in the clinic during business hours. Weather-permitting, some windows may be opened to improve air flow.

Thank you for your understanding, respect and consideration. It will take all of us doing our part to get through this!
